Do Nothing. Get Bored.

“If you keep yourself so busy, how will you have the mental space to come up with fresh ideas?”

This is what our company’s founder said in a call.

Mind-blowing, right? 🤯

This is literally against the hustle culture where we’re often told that being busy is the key to success 🔑

But it’s half-baked truth! 🍳

Here’s what I experienced this week 🐣

Do nothing. Get bored.

This week, I finished all my planned tasks for the entire week on Sunday itself 😅

Suddenly, my week felt like a blank canvas, waiting for me to fill it with something new and exciting 🎨👨‍🎨

I got bored and my mind automatically took me to a spiral of deep thoughts 🧠

👉 I pondered over my job, my side projects, my relationships, and just life in general.

👉 I got many ideas and even researched a lot. Maybe a bit too much, actually. I realized I needed to slow down and focus my efforts.

👉 I spent time organizing all those things that needed attention, but I kept putting them off. Classic case of the procrastination bug.

👉 I explored and cooked some unique dishes for my dinner, thanks to YouTube though. I never got out of my go-to regular dishes while being in a busy lifestyle.

Life is so much more than just a never-ending to-do list 📝

It’s about exploring new ideas, embracing creativity, and finding joy in the unexpected 🤗

Take a step back, breathe, and give yourself the space to think, dream, and create 🍨

I might cut down my internet more frequently to just get bored. Kinda meditation? 🧘‍♂️

✍ TODAY’S ACTION ITEM FOR YOU

Find ways to get bored.

Find ways to

✅ Eliminate – These could be low-value tasks, time-wasters, or commitments that can be let go

✅ Automate – See how you can use AI, productivity apps, scheduling software, or automation tools to automate your day-to-day tasks

✅ Delegate – Identify tasks that can be handed off to someone else who is more capable and available. Some classic examples include household maids, tax managers, car washers, etc

So you can free up your time and energy for more meaningful endeavors.

✔ WHAT I DID THIS WEEK

My today’s email was all about what I did this week. But here’s what I didn’t mention.

It was raining this whole week. It feels like a blessing to be in a remote job, watching the world struggling through the puddles and traffic.

I think this week was full of exploration.

Found some super-relevant content creators to follow, cold DM’ed 2 influencers and interestingly got replies as well!

Then I connected 2 senior team members and those calls went beyond 4 hours combined. Productive as well as deep! Time just becomes irrelevant when something good is brewing.

📚 BOOK I AM CURRENTLY READING

I completed 1% Success Habits by Brandon Nankivell. It’s a short book on productivity, typically the way how I like.

There was nothing new as such but rereading such values and practices every day is like a mental exercise that our mind needs.

I will possibly cover a summary in my upcoming newsletters.

But here’s my favorite quote:

KISS = Keep It Stupid Simple. Stop setting the bar so high that you can’t be bothered maintaining your habit.

🌐 AROUND THE WEB

I explored this tool called Screen Studio which is probably the coolest screen recording tool that I used.

While researching, I found that the pricing is way too high and I totally dropped out of it.

And the next day, our founder came like an angel providing complete access to the tool. Co-incidence? Super co-incidence!

It’s crazy how things connect at times. Shout out to him!
