In my last letter, I discussed having a never-to-do list to simplify your life. Did you create one for yourself or start with it?
Add this to your list – “I will never search for passive income ideas in my life”
Do you know why?
Because passive income does not exist.
Yeah, social media posts have corrupted our brains to a level that this is how we look at passive income.
Chill at any part of the world without getting bothered about anything for the rest of your life.
Here’s the reality – passive income does not exist.
- Founders of the biggest MNCs still need to direct the company, track revenues and keep their investors happy.
- Investments still force you to keep tracking markets.
- Selling books or products are hungry for marketing activities and chasing sales.
- I have never seen any professionals as miserable as YouTubers because they always need to put their cameras on and keep creating content otherwise algorithms kill their channels.
- I don’t even want to talk about the network marketing industry but even that keeps demanding “networking” as the name really says.
- Affiliate marketing makes you keep creating content to drive traffic, plus you are always under the mercy of YouTube algorithms or Google algorithms.
- Social media influencers that you see on Instagram have dark tears behind their mask to keep generating engagement on their profile otherwise they will lose the next brand endorsement deal.
Am I trying to discourage you?
Certainly not. It’s all about setting the right expectations for your side projects.
“So Pritesh, is it not at all possible to earn without trading our time?”
It is! Most business people that we see have a super powerful secret that helps them work without actually working.

WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
This week was mostly filled with lots of meetings and month-end tasks that I personally carry out.
Such tasks generally give a perception of being productive but in reality, we are just busy! I learned the difference from our founder. I will talk about this in detail in another edition.
This week was also about friends. My school friend came over to sleep overnight on Monday which ended up with deep talks till so late at night that we got to sleep for 2 hours (LoL). Another one was a 90-minute call full of deep talks with a friend who lives in Canada. Again, I am leaving for a weekend gateway tonight 🙂
BOOK I AM CURRENTLY READING
Completed “Zero To Billions – The Zerodha Story” this week. It’s not an autobiography but the author has depicted how Nithin Kamath, the CEO of Zerodha, started his journey. I am a big fan of his business sense and his values.
Zerodha is an ideal startup for most startup enthusiasts – bootstrapped, profitable, charming founder brothers, and the impact they created in a highly competitive market.
If you love reading stories about entrepreneurs, this book is for you.
AROUND THE WEB THIS WEEK
I am exploring several AI tools these days because, of course, they are trending. Seems AI can do everything now – generate text, video, audio, image, and so on.
In fact, it even helps to find a startup idea! Isn’t that crazy? Here’s a fun tool called Ideas AI that you can play with.
